My Shadow Arrived in Heaven Today

Today we lost our "Mac Mac". Mashkin was the most devoted dog I've ever owned. She adored me and I adored her. I was in love with her from the start.

Mashkin was incredibly focused...very impressive. She was involved, inquisitive and alert...a happy dog, confident and content. She got along well with the other dogs.  She was a beautiful girl. Her structure was nearly flawless and her movement beautiful, powerful and effortless.

One day she decided that she was going to be my shadow. From then on she was right there by my side as I took care of each dog every day, my helper. If she couldn't be right there she would wait for me.  Mashkin would lay her head in my lap while I worked on the computer. She was my constant companion.

Mashkin loved ice. She would stop whatever she was doing when she would hear the ice maker. She would clean up any chips to hit the floor.

Mashkin loved to eat. She would watch me attentively for hours before dinner, waiting to make eye contact for that acknowledgement that dinner was about to begin. She cracked me up.

Mashkin loved ropes. That was her favorite toy. It was eating rope and a pieces of a rag which caused her death.  

She was a perfect listener even when it would not be expected. Such trust and devotion right to the end.  Mashkin is greatly missed.

My brave tough girl, I love you. You're in peace now. You were my shadow and now I hope you'll be my angel.
